Father Son Campout

In mid-May, Jason took Nolan and Landon to the Stake Father Son Campout up in Pennsylvania. They had a great time playing games, roasting marshmallows and sleeping in the great outdoors. The next morning was even better when they got to make their very own marshmallow guns and used them in some fun "Capture the Flag" games.

They brought them home and spent all weekend shooting marshmallows around the house. Maylie thought it was the best game ever as she happily retrieved their ammo whenever she could!!

Oh boys and their toys!!

Talent Show Star!!

Abby decided to sing "Part of Your World" for her school's talent show on Friday, May 20th. She was very concerned about what she would wear to sing this song, but fortunately Amazon came through with a cute and modest version of Ariel's outfit to wear for the occasion...

The long red wig helped to complete the look!

Several of the teachers and Mrs. Wolford, the principal began the night with a "synchronized swimming" routine...

Then Abby was the very first act of the evening.

She wasn't nervous at all and did an amazing job complete with actions and a few dance moves too!

This girl really loves to perform and was right in her element that night!

She has a lot of talent when it comes to singing and performing and she really loves performing in front of an audience.

Here was the finale number as everyone danced to "Uptown Funk."

Such a shining star!!

Soccer

Nolan has been playing Spring soccer this year with Locomotive through the YMCA. I was a little hesitant about signing him up since we already had Abby in volleyball and Landon in baseball, but fortunately it hasn't been too bad. They only practice/play one day a week on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. and Nolan has LOVED it.

Here are some shots from picture day with all the 4-year-olds.

I really do like Locomotive for this age. They focus more on drills and games to keep things fun while also teaching them important soccer skills. They don't play any "real" soccer games at this level, but Nolan loves just being out there and having a good time.

End of Year Concert

Last night Abby had her school concert for both band and chorus. She has loved playing the clarinet in school each Monday and also participates in the 4th/5th grade chorus that meets after school each Tuesday during the year.

Her audience was quite enthralled with the whole affair too...

That girl is all cheeks...

This one wasn't terribly thrilled to be there...

But Nolan gave me some fun faces to work with while we waited for the show to get started...

First we heard from the 4th grade band. It was a bit painful to listen to at times, but I think they did pretty great considering they have only been playing since September.

Another interlude, another willing portrait sitter!!

Then it was time for the real treat for the evening, the 4th/5th grade chorus. They did an amazing job and I have been so impressed with how much their teacher Mrs. Sullivan has worked with them this year.

This girl was particular amazing on the drums during the opening number!!

Our friend Jessica from church was also there, in matching dresses from Costco!!

Abby loves performing so she was in heaven last night. Such a talented group of kids from Paramount Elementary!
