September Student of the Month

Abby was the 8th grade girl student of the month for September at Western Heights Middle School. This is the third year that she has received this honor!

She is such a great student and we are so proud of all the hard work she puts in to her schoolwork and helping out with her teachers. Great job Abby!

Color Splash 5K

Abby registered for the Color Splash 5K on Saturday, September 28th again this year after having such a great time doing it last time. It was also nice that four of her friends were able to do it along with her!

She finished right at 30 minutes which she was pretty excited about!

Good News in the Mail

This little note was the best thing I've gotten in the mail in a long time!! What a great teacher to take the time to write this note and what a blessing it is to be her mom!!

Just to keep it real...30 minutes after getting this note in the mail my 8 year old almost got a bus referral today for trying to kiss girls. Parenting is certainly filled with highs and lows!!

A New Beginning...

A very big change happened this week in our house. Jason had his last day with Citi on Monday, September 9th. He has worked there for the last 12+ years, ever since we moved here to Hagerstown. His co-workers were all shocked when he gave them the news that he would be leaving but Jason was ready for a change. He is now onto a new adventure in a completely different field and is excited as well as a bit nervous. 

Here he is heading off to work on his last day as a Citi employee...

He is now the Chief Operating Officer for Keller Stonebraker, a regional insurance company in the area. It is a pretty big change from corporate America, but he is excited about working for a smaller, local company. His office is about 10 minutes away from our house so we are grateful that he was able to find a great job that will allow us to stay in the area. Here's to a fresh start!!

Little Monkey

This little monkey is into EVERYTHING these days and loves to crawl around the house making messes wherever he goes!!

First Day of School!

And just like that our summer has come to an end. We had a lot of fun, but there was also a lot of boredom and fighting so I think it was time to head back to a school routine again on Tuesday, September 3rd!!

Abby is now in her final year at Western Heights Middle School. She is in 8th grade, enjoys Magnet Chorus and is most excited for the school play this year!

Landon is now in 6th grade and is doing the Academic Magnet Program at Western Heights Middle School. He is a little nervous about change but doing a summer math class for his program helped him to meet some new classmates and some of his teachers too which has helped his nervousness.

For the first time in 6 years we only have one child at Paramount Elementary! Nolan is starting 3rd grade this year with Mrs. Stouffer. He actually missed the real first day of school since he was at home with a fever but was ready to go on Wednesday, September 4th!

Maylie is excited for her second year at Growing Tree Preschool. She is in the 4-year-old class this year which meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Her teacher is Mrs. Custer and she loves going to school with her best friend Ayda who lives two doors down from us. She also officially started school on Wednesday, September 4th.

They all had a great first day of school and we hope it continues to be a successful year for all of them!

Father's Back to School Blessings

The kids all got their yearly Father's Blessings for their upcoming school year on Sunday, September 3rd. 

Maylie is excited about going to preschool this year...

Nolan will be going to 3rd grade...

Landon will be starting Middle School as a new 6th grader...

And Abby is now an 8th grader!!

Of course we couldn't leave out this little man who gets to spend his days with me. Good thing I'm his very favorite person!!
