Princess Party

North Hagerstown High School put on a special Princess Party as a fundraiser for their Music/Drama department on Saturday, February 2nd. Maylie was just a little bit excited to go!!

Here she is giving me her best princess poses before we left...

We started off with getting her nails done...

And then made it over to the cookie decorating area for a royal treat!

She love seeing the different princesses who were walking around the party including Princess Ariel...

Elsa and Anna...

And Belle!

Maylie was also able to get some sparkles for her hair...

And she did some fun princess crafts like make her own crown, wand, and paper dolls!

One of the highlights of the afternoon was seeing her good friend Ayda there. They loved dancing together to several Disney songs. They were really trying to master partner spins!

It was so fun to take Maylie to this party. It reminded me of some of the events that I would take Abby to at this age which doesn't seem that long ago in my mind but in reality she turns 13 in just a few weeks!! How did that happen?!?!?!

Nolan

We are having some behavior issues with Nolan right now. He is giving us a run for our money in parenting duties, but we are praying to know how we can best help him overcome these issues and we are trying our best to be patient yet firm in how we deal with him right now. He is struggling at school with talking and disturbing others so we are working on that one too! It is hard to be a parent and know exactly what we should do with each child. I guess we'll just keep plugging along and hope for some signs of improvement along the way!

Many faces of Hudson

I was trying so hard to get one of Hudson's huge smiles on camera, but it was a no-go that day. I did manage to capture several of his different looks though so it wasn't a complete fail. We love all of his different expressions!

Two Months Old

Time is speeding by right now and little Hudson turned 2 months old on January 30th!! I'm always a little sad when these milestones hit because it means my little baby is growing up, but we are loving this new stage too. He gives us such big smiles and is interacting with us much more. He is awake for longer periods of time during the day and is sleeping for longer stretches at night (usually!) He really loves to chew on his fist and tries so hard to get the whole thing in his mouth! He is fascinated by black and white images or any colorful object nearby. He is still a really good eater but now goes about 2-2.5 hours between feedings and doesn't really cluster feed in the evenings anymore. We haven't had to supplement with formula for a while now that I seem to be able to keep up with his voracious appetite!!

He had his two month check-up on Thursday, January 31st. He now weighs 12 lbs 2 oz (45th percentile) and is 25 inches long (99th percentile). He's a long and lean little one, except for his cheeks which seem to have doubled in size. They are perfect for kissing and munching on which we all love to do! We sure do love our little Hudson man!

Hudson Boy

This boy is killing us with his facial expressions recently. It is hard to capture on camera, but he gives the best smiles and wins us all over when he grants us one. My how we love our little Hudson boy!!

Bishop Call

Jason was called as Bishop of the Hagerstown Ward on Sunday, January 20th during our Ward Conference. We have actually known about this for quite some time. The Stake President called us in on my due date (November 27th) to extend the calling but wanted to give us time to adjust to the idea since we were about to have a baby any day.

We are both very overwhelmed with this new calling, but I know he will do great. We have really enjoyed having him home during his 8 weeks of paternity leave and will sure be sad when it officially ends on Wednesday, February 13th. It has been nice to be able to have so much family time together, especially now that he will have the equivalent of a part time job now that he is Bishop. This calling will require a lot of sacrifice from our entire family and is pretty overwhelming to think about on top of all the changes that come with having our 5th child.

Ready or not...here we go on our next adventure!!
