Abby was finally able to return to a hybrid schedule of in-person learning in February and they were able to have their first in-person performance on March 20th. Everyone performed solo and in my very biased opinion, I think Abby stole the show!! She did a monologue, a solo dance number she choreographed herself, and the song "Notice me Horton" from Seussical the Musical. She was amazing and we were so glad we could see her perform on stage!

Anniversary Gift
We didn't really do anything too exciting for our anniversary this year. The older kids had a youth activity that day so we didn't even go out to dinner together. But Jason did surprise me with the new olympic weight set which was very exciting. We sold our old standard weight set to make room for these new beautiful plates!!

Leprechaun Trap
Each of the kids made their own leprechaun traps this year. Unfortunately no leprechauns were caught, but they did leave some yummy green goodies for St. Patrick's Day so all was not lost!

First lost tooth!
Maylie lost her first tooth at the beginning of March. She was sure excited about his milestone and was even more thrilled with the $2 that the tooth fairy left under her pillow that night!

Abby turns 15!!
As much as I try to convince her to stop growing up so fast, Abby continues to disobey this order and turned 15 years old on February 20th!! She is such a wonderful young lady full of light, kindness, and a sweet disposition. Everyone warned me how difficult the teen years are, but this girl makes it easy. We sure do love our Abby girl!!
She opened up some fun presents and was even gifted a trip to the nail salon to get her nails done. Little did she know that was just a ruse to get her out of the house for her friends to come over for a little surprise party!
Olivia, Lauren, Megan, and Hanna all surprised her with some fun birthday wished and gifts. They had fun eating food from one of her favorite places, Noodles & Co., eating cake, playing games, and chatting the night away!
Happy birthday Abby! We hope all your wished come true and that this next trip around the sun is your best one yet!
Hudson enjoyed that cake just a little too much it seems!!

100th Day of School!
Maylie was able to celebrate the 100th day of school in style by dressing up like a 100-year-old person.
She makes getting old look so good!

Maya
On February 13th we made the difficult decision to put our dog Maya to sleep. She has been such a good dog for our family for so many years but was getting really irritable and it was becoming more and more difficult for her to move around. I was starting to worry about her snapping at the kids again and she would get very upset towards Cooper over anything. I had a very strong impression in the middle of the night that the time had come.
At 17 years of age, we are so grateful for the good, long life that our dog Maya lived, but goodbyes are still so terribly hard. So we aren't saying goodbye, but rather "see you on the other side" to our sweet furry friend! Our neighbor, MarKey Mayne, came over to our house to take some pictures for us that morning to remember her by!
We said our goodbyes with most of the family before leaving the house for the vet's office. Abby and I went to the vet to have the procedure done and it was honestly one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. We were both sobbing during the entire process and continued to cry for days afterwards. I kept hoping we had made the right decision and eventually felt peace about it. But goodbyes are just so hard!
