We had Landon's party on Saturday, June 6th and invited some friends over along with my sister Tasha and her family. We played a few games, watched Landon's First Year video that I had put together, and then had fun visiting and eating BBQ-style.
A few decorations...
Baseball-Licorice cupcakes...
My first attempt at decorating a cake. (I'm not nearly as talented as my sister-in-law Jennifer, but at least it somewhat resembles a baseball, right?!?!?)
All this fuss for one little man...
Landon playing balloons with his slightly older cousin Coldon...
Landon was not a fan of the cake when he first saw it...
Then he tried a bit...
Tried to forget how many calories he was consuming...
And then dug right in!!!
He would only eat the frosting (note the eager eyes of a little someone else in this picture)...
Note the finger of that little someone snatching some frosting on the sly...
The demolished cake look...
We had to snatch the cake away before he made himself too sick!
The cake-eating aftermath (a frosting explosion)...
We had a great time celebrating Landon's first birthday and he had a great time consuming more sugar in ten minutes than he had yet to eat during his entire lifetime.

Isn't it funny how much work we really do put into their parties at even such a young age. The pictures are worth it though. The cake turned out cute, and Landon is even cuter! Happy 1st Birthday again little man! (And I love Abby's little finger stealing some frosting).
That cake was awesome. I love the cupcakes. What a great idea with the licorice. I'll have to steal your idea sometime. Looks like it was a fun day! Happy birthday Landon.
Ok I just have to say again that I REALLY like the cake. Your kids are adorable.
