Disney World Day 1 - Epcot

Our children have been so excited all summer long about our trip to Disney World. We were able to get a really good deal on our trip by going during one of the slowest times of the year (September), getting the Dining Plan for free (so nice!), and buying gift cards to Disney through Target.com that saved us an additional $500!

We flew into Orlando on Tuesday, September 15th at 11 a.m. Our bags were checked from the airport in Baltimore straight to our room at the Art of Animation Disney Resort so we could go straight to the parks. After our arrival in Orlando, we boarded a Magical Express Bus at the airport, drove 45 minutes to Disney World and then boarded another bus to take us straight to Epcot. I was pretty impressed that within 90 minutes of touching down at the airport, we were already in one of the Disney Parks. Everything about Disney World is very efficient!

Epcot was probably our least favorite park, so it was good we started there! They had a fun "Finding Nemo" ride that everyone enjoyed though.

While we were eating lunch, we caught sight of Mary Poppins!

After lunch we made the mistake of trying to hit the Epcot World Showcase which included A LOT of walking and not much action. Until the kids are older, I would suggest staying at the front of the park where most of the rides and fun stuff for younger kids was located. We did have Fast Passes for "Soarin" which all the kids really enjoyed!

By the end of the day, we were anxious to leave Epcot and head back to our hotel.

We had seen pictures of our resort online and we were anxious to see it in person. It did not disappoint!!

We stayed in the Finding Nemo Family Suite which included a separate bedroom/bathroom for parents (and Maylie!) and then a living area with a fold out couch where the boys slept each night. The kids also had their own bathroom!

There was a little sitting area where we ate breakfast each morning before heading to the Parks. The table area included a Murphy Bed that we would fold down each night for Abby to sleep on. It was a perfect set-up for a our family of six!!

And this was the pool right outside our room which we all really enjoyed!

This was a really fun hotel to stay at...quintessential Disney at its finest!!
