Spring Soccer

In mid May we finished up another season of soccer. Landon has really enjoyed playing with the Locomotive U4/U5 team and has learned so much in these last 6 weeks. His soccer skills have really started to take off and we have already registered him for another season next fall.

I love this picture of him telling something to the coach. He could often be found telling his coaches about some random tidbit in the middle of the game!

This is him probably trying to explain to one of his teammates that their goal was THIS way (he would get frustrated when kids would just score in any goal and not their team goal!)

Boredom did come up a few times...

But mostly he just loved playing his little heart out!

"Why yes, that was me!!"

After his last game, they handed out trophies to all the players (there were 4, yes 4 Landons on his team. Geez, I had never heard of another Landon until after we had named him and here I was thinking it would be a rather uncommon name!!)

Most of the U4/U5 players...

For his birthday, we ended up buying these same type of soccer goals for him to practice his skills in our backyard. I ordered them a few weeks ago from Amazon, and when they arrived, they didn't arrive in the plain, brown Amazon box that stuff usually arrives in. Landon opened the door when they were delivered and since there was a huge picture of the goals on the box, there was no use trying to hide it from him. We decided to just let him open them that day so he has been busy playing with them as an early Birthday present ever since. Sure do love that little soccer superstar!
