Trapped!

Maylie was making a mess of things around the house so Landon decided to contain her a bit by putting her in the toy basket...

Needless to say she wasn't a fan!!

Dress Up Time

Abby had a great time one summer afternoon dressing up Maylie in all kinds of crazy costumes.

Here is Maylie as a cheerleader...

A ballerina...

In a doll robe...

And with candy cane socks!!

Obviously Maylie loved all the attention too!

Mall Story Time

Abby and Landon are getting a bit too old for the Mall story time they offer during the summer, but Nolan and Maylie are at the perfect age so I still try to go once in a while. This week's theme was all about Italy and after reading several books on the subject, they brought it a special guest to show us all how to throw pizza dough!

Then each child got to take a piece of dough and try it out for themselves.

Throw that dough, Nolan!!

The craft that day was making some pasta and bead necklaces to go along with the "Italian" theme. Such a fun way to spend a summer morning!!

Harry Potter's Birthday!

We found out that Harry Potter's "birthday" is on July 31st, so we used that as an excuse to have a little party at home with a few of our friends. We made up some fun refreshments to go along with our "Harry Potter" theme.

Some "butterbeer"...

Candy frogs, golden snitches and Griffindor gumballs...

Exploding bonbons, Bertie Bott's Beans (just regular beans this time!) and some coins from Gringotts Bank!

Abby even set up an entire display in honor of the occasion!!

That night we also watched "The Prisoner of Azkaban" while eating all of the yummy treats. Thanks for having a birthday Harry Potter so we could all celebrate it!!

Library Reading Club

The Summer Reading Program this year has a theme of "Every Hero Has a Story." They have had several parties based on Superheros, but the kickoff was all about everyday community heroes like police officers and firemen. We had a fun afternoon learning about and exploring these heroes too!
