Cub Scouts

On Tuesday, April 24th, Landon earned a bunch of different Cub Scout awards at their Pack Meeting. The biggest award for him was his earning of the Wolf badge.

Jason was out of town again, but I was lucky to be able to be there to help him pin on his newest rank.

I am so proud of all of Landon's efforts in Scouting so far. I hope that he continues to enjoy it!
(Don't mind the Nolan kid I seem to have attached to my legs!)

Spring Days!

Maylie and I have enjoyed visiting different parks around the area during the day. She is quite the little character and loves running all around and trying out new things!

I love this time when it is just Maylie and me during the day. She is usually such a sweetheart and my favorite little sidekick on all of our many errands!

Easter Best

On Sunday morning, we all got dressed up in our Easter best to begin our day. I just loved these matching dresses for the girls from Costco and the boys were easy to match with navy pants and white polo shirts.

The picture-taking was a bit comical this year, but it sure did make for some funny pictures!

Nolan cracks me up in this one...

Then Maylie joins Nolan with the crazy!

"Nolan, put your hand under your chin."...and this is what we get. About as good as it was going to get that day!

Our handsome boys!

With their very unique style!

We tried to get a back-to-back picture with the girls too, but Maylie didn't quite understand the idea!

This pose worked out a bit better!

Then when we were finally done trying to get some decent pictures, I told them they could do some crazy shots. This is what we ended up with!!

We had a nice Easter at church and then enjoyed having my sister Tasha and her family join us that afternoon for Easter dinner.

I am so thankful for Easter and all that it promises to us. I love my Savior and I know that he lives. Because he lives, I know that we will all live again which brings me great hope and peace!

Easter Shenanigans

We got home from our travels just in time to do some of our Easter traditions on Saturday.

Here they are getting ready to go on a scavenger hunt to find their Easter baskets. Don't they all look thrilled?!?!

Once we got started, their attitudes changed and they loved going to all sorts of places around the house to find the next clue...

They finally found all their baskets in the clothes dryer!

After Easter baskets, we dyed some Easter eggs...

And then held our indoor/outdoor Easter Egg hunt. They were all eager to find as many of those eggs as possible!

We always try to do the secular Easter activities on Saturday so that we can focus more on the Savior on Easter Sunday. This is what my family did growing up and it has worked out well for our little family as well.

Richmond Pit-stop

On our way back from North Carolina, we made a pit-stop in Richmond, Virginia to visit Stephanie and her children. She is a friend from our days in Texas and it was so fun catching up with her again. She has a son who is just a few months younger than Abby and a daughter just a few months younger than Landon. Her youngest is about 6 months younger than Maylie so they all had a great time playing together! She made us all a yummy lunch and then we headed over for some fun park time.

It was so nice to visit with a good friend and a great way to break up our drive back home!

Spring Break

Jason traveled for work during Spring Break so I decided to take the kids down to North Carolina to visit my sister Lara and her family. The kids did great driving and we enjoyed spending time with cousins!

On our last day there we went to the Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. It was such a fun place and all the kids enjoyed it.

We started off building some fun creations with these big foam blocks...

And then enjoyed knocking them back down before we left for the next station!

They had a lot of craft/STEM items to keep kids of all ages entertained.

Maylie was sure to put her genius Chess skills to work too!

The play city was a HUGE hit including the fire station, ambulance, hospital, farm, cooking area, and store.

Perhaps the biggest thrill of the day were these giant LEGO blocks.

All the kids worked very hard together to build a giant house that was even taller than Paige and Abby!

We were so glad to be able to enjoy some time with family over the break from school!

Crazy Girl

This girl provides us with endless entertainment. She really enjoys getting into the dress-ups lately and she comes up with some pretty amazing combinations.

She especially loves it when we laugh at her antics which just inspires her to become crazier and crazier!

Nolan the Super Hero

Nolan came up from the basement looking like this one afternoon.

I think he was a cross between a Super Hero and a Ninja with like 20 different weapons on him.

Sure do love this kid!!

Super Hero Fest

On Saturday, April 1st, Paramount Elementary held their annual Spring Fest with a Super Hero theme. The kids had fun playing all the games and especially at the Cake Walk where we ended up winning two cakes!

My little Super Heroes...and that one kid who ALWAYS has to do the "dab!"

Maylie was quite fascinated with Ms. Austin's game of fishing for candy!
