6th Grade RESA

Landon was invited to his first RESA ceremony on February 27th. He was awarded for making the Distinguished Honor Roll (all A's) for both marking periods.

Landon has done really well at middle school so far and seems to be enjoying his classes and teachers!

His reward was a yummy treat from Sweet Frog before heading back to the school for play rehearsal!

Tree trimming

They finally came to trim our 12 Cypress Trees in the back on Wednesday, February 26th. I love these trees and the privacy they provide, but they were starting to take over our yard!!

They cut them back quite a bit and also cut off about 4-5 feet off the top. They look a little sparse right now but hopefully will grow in nicely again during the summer months!

8th Grade RESA

Abby had her 8th Grade RESA ceremony on Tuesday, February 25th for both the first and second marking periods.

She earned Distinguished Honor Roll (all A's) for both marking periods and was also a STAR student during the first marking period!

We are so proud of all the hard work she puts in to being successful in middle school!

To help celebrate her achievement, we took her out for ice cream at Sweet Frog where we were joined by quite a few of her good friends who were also honor roll students. Then it was back to the school for most of them for "Moana" rehearsal!

2020 Infusion Concert

Abby had her third and final Infusion Concert on February 21-22. They put on three different shows and sold out every single one!! It was the hottest ticket in town this weekend! They put on their original production of "Trapped" about a couple of teens who get stuck in a storybook of different lands and have to figure their way back out. It was so good and fun to watch all of these amazingly talented kids right in their element.

Abby got to play the piano...

Sang in multiple group numbers...

Acted in a skit with two of her good friends as well as performed a song that she and her Dad wrote together!

She really enjoyed being in the big group numbers including this one from "Stick it to the Man" in the land of misfits!

She performed "Cups" with three other 8th grade girls too...

And then finished the show with a great rendition of "Can't Hold Us"...

Abby was right in her element and loved every second of rehearsing and performing. It was kind of sad for her when it was all over, especially since this will be her last Infusion concert at WHMS.

Here are some pictures we were able to get with some of her favorite people.
Here is Maisy and Montana...

Her wonderful principal Mr. Mauriello...

Her good friend Sydney...

Her friend...

And the best teachers who worked so hard to help these kids succeed, Mrs. Sunday...

And Mr. Durcica!

We love this sweet, talented girl of ours and how much she loves to perform. Now it's on to "Moana" rehearsals for the next two months!

Abby is 14!!

This smart, funny, spiritual, caring, sweet, and beautiful girl defied our orders to stop growing up and turned 14 years old on February 20th. I know that I say this about every single birthday but seriously how in the world can she be 14!!!! We feel so blessed to have her in our family!

She had in-school rehearsal for her upcoming show during school on her birthday, so I took her out to lunch at Chipotle the day before and bought her a new pair of jeans to wear the next day.

She has worked hard over these last few years to earn enough money to purchase her own iPhone recently and got some fun accessories to go with it. She also got some clothes, a hair organizer, some hamster fluff, and money from family and grandparents.

Lara and Tasha both gave her a stuffed Pua since she will be playing the lead role in her school's production of "Moana!"

After dinner at her favorite place, "Noodles & Co." we came home and dived into this yummy ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins!

Happy 14th Birthday to our amazing Abby girl!! We love you so much and hope all of your many dreams come true. This is going to be a big year of change for you, but I know you'll handle it with grace and meet every challenge that may come your way! May it be your best year yet!

Maryland Science Center

On President's Day, we headed down to Baltimore to spend some time at the Maryland Science Center. This is a great place for all of our kids because they can all find something fun to do despite their different ages.

This was Hudson's first visit and he loved wandering all around and kept us very busy just chasing after him!

We enjoyed spending time in the dinosaur area...

And Newton's laws of motion...

Maylie was brave enough to try the "bed of nails" this time!

It was another gorgeous weather day and we enjoyed spending some time in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It was a great way to spend the day off from work/school for our family!

Hit another milestone with WW...20 lbs down and counting!! Although I've hit my WW goal weight, my personal goal weight is a bit lower so I'm still plugging along and enjoying food freedom and smaller size clothes!!

First Church Dance

Abby went to her first church dance on Saturday, February 8th at the Frederick Stake Center. She was super excited about going and had a great time. There were 5-6 stakes there so quite a large group of youth that attended.

She is already looking forward to the next one in March!

Goal Achieved!!

So I reached my WW goal weight on February 8th, just shy of 3 months since joining. So grateful for this great program and the motivation that it gave me to finally lose the rest of the baby weight plus a bit more! I now need to maintain (or at least not go over more than 2 pounds) for the next 6 weeks to reach Lifetime status with WW.

Grocery Store Fun

During the winter months, we get a lot of use out of our Discovery Station passes. They recently renovated their grocery store area and both kids love playing in there!

Good thing they stocked up on all those veggies!

Spring in February?!?!

We had an abnormally warm day on Monday, February 3rd with temperatures in the mid 60's! We took advantage of it by going to two different playgrounds to play and didn't even need coats!

Dress up

Abby wanted to dress up Hudson to look like the prophet Lehi one Sunday evening. He had a hard time getting around in this particular getup!

This boy sure does provide us with many hours of laughter and entertainment!
