Chalk the Block

We spent this afternoon creating a positive message for our neighbors with our "chalk the block" contribution. We've had several neighbors follow our lead and it's been fun to see all the beautiful creations during our daily walks and bike rides!

Outdoor Adventures!

We got out of the house for a bit with a 2-mile stroll along the C&O Towpath this morning. Trying our best not go stir crazy!!

At least the weather has cooperated enough for us to be able to get outside almost every day!

16th Anniversary!

On Friday, March 20th Jason and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. To be perfectly honest, this year's anniversary will probably go down as one of our worst anniversaries ever! We each made a homemade card for one another and this was the card I came up with for Jason. Then that night we lost our electricity for a few hours and I was so nervous about losing the food in our fridge and freezer. Fortunately it came on just as we started getting ready for bed. It just wasn't the kind of 16th anniversary we were both hoping for!

Here's to many more anniversaries to come though...just hopefully the one and only one during a pandemic!!

Accepted!!

This girl is such a blessing to us. We're still not sure what will happen with playing the lead in her school's musical, but she did receive some exciting news yesterday. She just received her acceptance letters for Barbara Ingram School for the Arts for both Vocal and Musical Theater. She was thrilled and now has a tough decision to make!

Leprechaun Traps

With school being cancelled for the foreseeable future, we have implemented this schedule to help us stay on task during the day. It has actually been great for me and the kids so they know what to expect and gives some structure for all of us.

For our fist STEM challenge on Monday, all the kids made Leprechaun traps in preparation for St. Patrick's Day the next day.

I thought Abby's was the most appropriate for this year!!

Here is Maylie's trap...

Nolan's trap...

And Landon's trap...

All set up on St. Patrick's Day eve!

Unfortunately no live Leprechauns were caught that night, but they did get to go on a fun scavenger hunt to locate some fun "green" treasures the next day!

Corona Virus Schedule

Well the big news around the whole world this week is the Corona Virus that has literally flipped our world upside down. Schools are closed, church is cancelled and no groups larger than 10 people are allowed to be together. We have been asked to practice social distancing, staying away from others as much as possible and maintaining at least 6 feet between yourself and another person. All restaurants, movie theaters, malls and gyms have been closed in the state of Maryland and in other states around the United States. It's been a crazy, crazy time for sure!

Here was our busy schedule last week...

And here is the schedule for this week!! What a different a weeks makes!!

We are doing everything we can to keep ourselves and others safe and help flatten that curve to this pandemic. Should be very interesting!

Our sweet troublemaker

How can you resist this adorable little face?!?! He is so cute and so sweet at times...

But he also loves to get into everything and makes the biggest messes as evidenced by the pictures here!

We sure do love this little guy though!

Dr. Seuss Story Time

We were surprised with a fun story hour with "Dr. Seuss" during our weekly trip to the Discovery Station this week! We went with some neighbors this time and it was their first time trying it out. They loved it just like we do!

Kid Chair

All the kids decided to share the same chair for scripture study one Sunday evening. It was a tight fit but they sure thought it was great!
