4th Grade Band/Chorus Concert

Landon had his very first band concert on Thursday, April 26th. He plays the trumpet and when we asked how everyone was sounding as they prepared for his concert, he told us bluntly "We suck!!"

Well it was definitely a beginner band concert but I actually thought they did pretty good considering all of them have only played for this school year.

After the 4th grade band concert, it was time for the 4th/5th grade chorus concert. These kids practice every Tuesday together after school and they sound amazing. Their teacher Mrs. Sullivan does such a great job with them and Landon has become quite the singer under her instruction!

We sure love this kid and all of his musical talent!!

Captain Maylie

The kids love to play around with my Dad's old medals that he earned while serving in the Marine Corps. Maylie came down one Sunday with all kinds of medals attached to her dress along with a little league baseball hat. I asked her to give me a salute and at first I got this one-eyed cyclops look from her...

This one is a bit better!!

I think my Dad would be pleased to know that his grandchildren like to wear his medals around so much!!

Ballet Recital

Maylie had her final ballet class/recital on Wednesday, April 18th. They put on a cute little show for all the parents and it was fun to watch.

Here she is with her teacher and all of her ballet classmates. We signed her up for another session so she will continue with her lessons until the beginning of June.
I think her very favorite part of ballet is the fancy pink leotard that she likes to wear almost everyday!!

Field Trip to Antietam Battlefield

I volunteered to chaperone the 4th grade trip to Antietam Battlefield on Tuesday, April 17th. The field trip was really fun, but unfortunately the weather was terrible. It was super cold and even snowed on us while we were out there!

The kids were troopers though and learned a lot about the Civil War and events that happened right in own backyard.

Despite the weather, I was glad I was able to spend the day with Landon, my very favorite 4th grader!!

Water Show

On Thursday, April 12th, Nolan had his first show at Paramount. The 1st graders put on a little musical all about water complete with umbrellas, rain boots and coats.

After attending so many concerts for his older siblings, Nolan was pretty excited to be performing a show of his very own. They all did a fantastic job!!

Pajama Power

Nolan came walking into his bedroom telling us he was cold and used his pajama pants as an arm warmer.

Such a silly kid!!

Abby's Baking Skills

One of Abby's favorite things to do on Sunday afternoons is bake. She tried out this braided circle bread one week and we all devoured it!!

Painting her nails

Maylie was very quiet for quite a while in our craft room. Then I heard her trying to wash her hands for a really long time. When I went to investigate, she told me that she had painted her nails....with white-out!!

She was pretty proud of her work but let me tell you we had to scrub for quite a while to get all of that off of her nails!!

Disney MSO Concert

Jason is the treasurer for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and got us all tickets to attend their Disney concert on Saturday, April 7th. It was such a great concert with amazing music, singing, and they even showed video clips from Disney movies throughout the concert.

During intermission, they invited all the kids who were dressed up in Disney costumes to parade across the stage. Maylie was not nervous at all as she told everyone her name, age, and who she was dressed up as and then walked confidently across the stage. She was in heaven!!

Easter Pictures

Our neighbor has recently started a photography business and does an amazing job. She was offering an Easter package complete with live chicks so we took the plunge and had the kids have their Easter pictures done with her. I think they turned out amazing!!

Happy Easter 2018!!

Easter Basket Fun

On Easter morning I created a scavenger hunt for the kids to find their Easter baskets. They loved running all over the house and finding clues to where their baskets might be.

The final location was in the back of our van!

Lots of fun Easter treats and goodies!!

I think one of the favorite gifts from their baskets was this castle wooden block set. Some pretty fantastic creations were made on Easter afternoon!
