First Bike Ride!!

In typical Spring fashion, the weather has gone from being beautiful one day to snowing the next. On one of those "nice" days, we got down our bikes, cleaned them up a bit from their long winter hiatus, and took our first bike ride of the season. It was glorious...especially since this little one can now join in too!!

Here's to hoping for many more nice Spring days to come!!

Today is the day for the wearing of the green...

The kids have been very excited about St. Patrick's Day. They were a little disappointed that it wasn't a school holiday, but we still tried to make it a little special for them. Abby made a cute little Leprechaun trap last night and it seemed to work with all the treats that were left for them this morning.

Those sneaky Leprechauns even played a trick on them, turning their Lucky Charm filled milk "green!"

Maybe the Leprechauns also played a trick by giving us another 2 inches of snow this morning, leading to a two-hour delay of school. The kids are enjoying the extra time this morning (and admittedly, I do like these two hour delays too!) but c'mon now Winter, you have officially overstayed your welcome. Bring on Spring!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Abby's Baptism

On Saturday, February 22, Abby was baptized by her dad in a very special service. Abby had been looking forward to this day for so long and she was more than ready to take this important step in her life. Jason and I could hardly believe that our little girl was already old enough to be getting baptized but we are so proud of her decision. She sets a great example for her two younger brothers to follow.

Here they are, dressed all in white...

My very special little girl...

We felt so blessed to have so many family members and friends there to share our special day. We had both sets of grandparents and Jason's sister Jennifer who all flew in for the occasion, plus my two sisters, Lara and Natasha and their entire families who drove up from North Carolina and Virginia. We also had a full chapel with our ward family and three of our neighbors and their families who joined with us in celebrating this wonderful occasion.

Grandpa Cleveland and Grandpa Call. They were baptismal witnesses and were in the confirmation circle...

Grandma Cleveland and Grandma Call. Grandma Cleveland gave the talk on baptism and Grandma Call gave the talk on the Holy Ghost...

The theme of her baptism was based on the "three white dresses" (Blessing, Baptism, and Wedding) which is what the three pictures in the frame represented.

Here was what the inside of the program looked like...

After the baptismal service, we had a gathering in the cultural hall with a dessert and fruit bar...

As we were driving to the church that morning, I told Abby that the sun was shining on this beautiful winter day because Heavenly Father was so happy with her decision to be baptized. It was actually the only weekend we had in February where the weather was actually sunny and warm so that everyone was able to travel safely. Another wonderful blessing to this special day!!
