Nolan is Five!!

On June 28th, this little man turned 5!!

He had been looking forward to his birthday for so long and was super excited when he woke up to open up some fun presents...

He got his very own Razor scooter!!

Some Lego sets...

And some money!!

We spent that morning at Greenbrier State Park swimming at the lake and eating donuts with his cousins and other friends from church.

That evening we went to dinner at his favorite place, Golden Corral, and then had a special cake to celebrate the big day!

This little boy is such a delight. He loves to help me around the house, especially when it comes to cleaning the toilets! He is a great big brother to Maylie and often sings her songs he makes up about how cute and nice she is. He loves to act crazy, pretend he is either a superhero or a "bad guy" and makes messes wherever he goes. He has also become quite adept at Legos and can spend hours making his creations and then playing with them. He has the best imagination and also loves to snuggle with me when it's time to read a good book. He is anxiously looking forward to starting kindergarten in August, but I'm not sure how I will handle life without my little sidekick.

Happy 5th Birthday Nolan!!

Landon the All Star!

Landon was pretty excited to make the Maugansville 7-8 All-Star team this year. He worked hard all season long and had some great stats to show for it at the end of the regular season. He ended up being one of 12 players chosen to play for the summer All-Star team. Practices began as soon as we arrived home from the Bear Lake reunion and we played our first tournament in mid-June at Pen-Mar up in Pennsylvania. I took these pictures before his first game as an All-Star!

This boy lives and breathes baseball and it is fun to watch him play a sport that he loves so much.
Go Landon!!

Bear Lake Reunion

Just two days after the kids got out of school for the summer, we packed up the car and headed out to Utah to visit family and spend time at Bear Lake for the Call Family Reunion.

We stopped at Heber City for some yummy shakes from Granny's and then made our way to Utah where we celebrated a late birthday dinner for Landon at "Chuck-A-Rama." Landon was pretty excited to meet up with some of his cousins there!

We stayed in Salt Lake for two nights and then headed up to Bear Lake on Monday morning. On our way, we stopped at the Treehouse Museum in Ogden Utah which was a blast. They had all kinds of neat things for our kids to do there and they all had a great time.

Maylie loved wandering around and exploring...

Landon seeing if he was strong enough to pull out the Excalibur sword (he wasn't!!)

King Landon and Prince Nolan!

Abby loved the craft projects...

Go Cowboy Nolan!

Our very own rodeo clown!

Maybe we should move to a farm since these kids have some pretty mad milking skills!

No worries, the firemen are on their way!

Maylie for President!!

Landon giving us his best Abe Lincoln impersonation!!

The youngest pediatrician ever!

We arrived at Bear Lake around 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon and got to work reacquainting ourselves with our Call cousins again. They were all fascinated with making homemade Root Beer!

The view of Bear Lake from our vacation home...spectacular!!

The home my in-laws rented was wonderful. It had plenty of space for everyone and lots of things to do both inside and outside the home.

The kids especially loved the slides between floors!

We spent a couple of mornings out at the lake on a sandbar. The water was pretty cold, but it was fine to wade in and collect skipping rocks.

We played some pretty fun games of kickball as a family and enjoyed feeding the seagulls too.

There were lots of hours spent playing board games...

And the "Minute to Win It" games were quite a hit too!

On our last day we rented a kayak and a paddleboard. I think the kids enjoyed this version of paddleboarding the best!

But this was perhaps the best part of our vacation home, an indoor playground with a playset, a trampoline and a basketball court.

We stayed at Bear Lake until Friday morning and then hit the road for the long ride back home. All that driving was worth it though!! Such a fun family vacation!
