32 Weeks

Well, here I am starting my 8th month of pregnancy...

I'm still feeling really good and have few complaints. Most people are pretty surprised when I tell them how far along I am (due next month...CRAZY!!!) I still work out 4-5 times each week at the gym and I hope to be able to do this until delivery. I'm a bit worn out by the end of each day but I guess that's to be expected at this point. This baby seems to be sitting perfectly inside though. With Abby I carried high, making it difficult to breathe at times and giving me terrible heartburn. I carried a lot lower with Landon which put a lot of pressure on my bladder and made running impossible by this point. I seem to be carrying this baby right in the middle which makes for a really nice pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy in my 30's and has definitely been my easiest pregnancy so far. I guess some things do get better with age (or I'm just incredibly lucky!!) Less than 8 weeks to go!!!

Lookin' good! Will you clarify something for me? So, when you're 32 weeks, you have 8 weeks to go...and 32 weeks counts up as 8 months, but you have more than a month left. My husband insists on calling 32 weeks 7 months, but so many other people call it 8. Which is correct?

Marissa -- So a pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks. If you go by 4 weeks=1 month then a pregnancy really lasts 10 months rather than 9. However, all months (but February) have more than 4 week in them so it really is nine "calendar months" of pregnancy, but 10, 4-week increments (confusing?!?!...Yes!!!) In order to have it make sense in my own mind, I just think of pregnancy as a full nine months, meaning at 12 weeks you enter into your third month, 16 weeks is entering into your 4th month...etc. So at 32 weeks I am entering into my "8th month" and at 36 weeks I will enter into my "9th month" and 40 weeks will put me at "9 full months" of pregnancy. But I figure however you want to count it, works for you!!!

Oh my word Dadra you are tiny! You look soooo good. How fun that you've been able to be so active with this pregnancy. Hope the rest of it flies by for ya! :)

Oh my Dadra, you are a freak of nature. And I mean that in a good way. I simply do not understand where you hide your babies. And aren't your babies big?! Even more baffling. :) I have pretty small babies even though my belly would make you think otherwise. I'm so glad you're feeling well! I am tired, oh so tired! Good for you for staying so healthy.

And I totally hear Marissa on the confusion of months vs. weeks. The doctors really need to straighten that all out. I usually just say weeks because of how confusing it all is.

Dadra you look great! I'm impressed with how much you can work out this far along. I don't even work out that often and I don't have your excuse. :)

You look great. I've been lucky to be small and active during all of my pregnancies as well and it helps a TON toward labor and recovery. Good for you being even more active this time around. I cannot believe that he/she is almost here!

Another thing about the weeks. Dadra explained it great. Also, remember they count pregnancy from the first day of your last menstrual cycle. Assuming you ovulate 14 days after that, you are not even pregnant those first two weeks. For people who are confused as to which month falls into which week here is a website that further explains it: http://www.baby2see.com/pregnancylength.html
