Abby's Baptism

On Saturday, February 22, Abby was baptized by her dad in a very special service. Abby had been looking forward to this day for so long and she was more than ready to take this important step in her life. Jason and I could hardly believe that our little girl was already old enough to be getting baptized but we are so proud of her decision. She sets a great example for her two younger brothers to follow.

Here they are, dressed all in white...

My very special little girl...

We felt so blessed to have so many family members and friends there to share our special day. We had both sets of grandparents and Jason's sister Jennifer who all flew in for the occasion, plus my two sisters, Lara and Natasha and their entire families who drove up from North Carolina and Virginia. We also had a full chapel with our ward family and three of our neighbors and their families who joined with us in celebrating this wonderful occasion.

Grandpa Cleveland and Grandpa Call. They were baptismal witnesses and were in the confirmation circle...

Grandma Cleveland and Grandma Call. Grandma Cleveland gave the talk on baptism and Grandma Call gave the talk on the Holy Ghost...

The theme of her baptism was based on the "three white dresses" (Blessing, Baptism, and Wedding) which is what the three pictures in the frame represented.

Here was what the inside of the program looked like...

After the baptismal service, we had a gathering in the cultural hall with a dessert and fruit bar...

As we were driving to the church that morning, I told Abby that the sun was shining on this beautiful winter day because Heavenly Father was so happy with her decision to be baptized. It was actually the only weekend we had in February where the weather was actually sunny and warm so that everyone was able to travel safely. Another wonderful blessing to this special day!!

What an awesome experience. I am so bummed that Matthew has to share his baptism, but oh well, I need to get over it. So cool that so many came to the baptism. I am sure she felt so special.
