Spring Break in Texas

Well our 4th attempt to travel to Texas was finally a success. We were supposed to go for Spring Break in 2020 but then Covid hit so we postponed our trip until August. Texas had a huge surge in Covid cases in July so we decided to postpone our trip again and instead go down for Jason's sisters sealing in December. Then the snowstorm cancelled those plans too. We were finally able to make it down there for Spring Break 2021 and had a great time visiting Grandma and Grandpa Call.

We were able to visit several parks while we were down there including this fun one that included some interesting wildlife!

There was also a sandy beach area that the kids really enjoyed splashing around in.

The boy were quite entertained with the magnet tiles and achieved their goal of stacking them to the ceiling one day!

We stopped by an HEB grocery store in Kingwood, Texas that showed just how high the water line got during Hurricane Harvey.

We were also there over Easter so we spent some time on Saturday doing our Easter traditions like coloring Easter eggs and going on an Easter Egg Hunt outside.

On Easter Sunday we drove to Kline, Texas to visit the grave of our first little baby boy. The kids enjoyed gathering pine cones and flowers to decorate it.

We got a sneak peak at the Houston Temple on our way back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to watch General Conference that afternoon.

On our last day in Texas we were able to head to Galveston, Texas and enjoyed the beach for a few hours. The waves were much milder than in the Outer Banks but the water was still rather cold!

I think the highlight though was feeding the seagulls bread. They were hovering right overhead which was sometimes a bit creepy!!

We ended our trip to Galveston with a stop at the Rainforest Cafe and some family pictures at the beach. It was a fun way to spend our Spring Break and we were grateful that we were able to make this trip to Texas finally happen!
