Memorial Day 2018

We spent the morning of Memorial Day at Antietam National Cemetery. They have a nice program each year that really helps to set the tone for the day and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

Walking among those thousands of headstones is truly a humbling experience and fills me with so much gratitude.

Of course sharing this experience with Tasha and her family makes it extra special. Willow and Maylie are quite the little pair and I love how close our families are since we make the effort to see each other several times a month.
After the cemetery, we had a picnic lunch and went out for ice cream. A great unofficial start to the summer season!!
