The big event at the end of June was Nolan's 2nd birthday. I try not to think about how fast this little man is growing up. He is adored by all and his cuteness masks some of the "terrible two" behavior we've been experiencing lately.
His big birthday present was this little water table. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, Nolan or his siblings, but they spent most of the morning of the 28th getting wet and loving it!
That night it was time to open some presents. After watching Landon open his presents a few weeks ago, Nolan knew just what to do now that it was his turn.
The gifts were a hit!!
Then it was time for his brownie cake. This was his look as we sang "Happy Birthday" to him...
After a few demonstrations on how to blow out the candles, he mastered the blowing out of his two little candles with ease.
Nolan is a delight and because he is still so small, its easier for me to pretend that he is still my little baby. He's beginning to talk more and more and we love to hear all of his new words. He'll often sing along with the kid songs we play in the car and it always melts my heart to hear his little voice. He has earned the nickname "Huck Finn" from my side of the family. He would be content to live his life barefoot outdoors and has already managed to escape several times out the front door. I even found him once roaming the neighborhood with our dog Maya like they both ruled the world. He certainly does not like to be told no and is as messy as ever, but we sure do love him.

Happy birthday to that cute little man! Can't believe he was out roaming the neighborhood with your dog...little stinker. He and Everett would certainly be a scary duo!
That is crazy he is two already. I remember seeing picture of him in the two outfits at the different months.
Isn't it crazy that they can be so hard and so cute at the same time?
